Exceptions Committee / Ex Gratia Benefits Committee

In the framework of benefits granted to bereaved families, two new committees have been created. These committees' purpose is to examine and establish the eligibility for a rise of benefits rates, as well as reviewing entitlement to exceptional financial aid to bereaved families members. Eligibility is examined pursuant to criteria provided by the law.

Bereaved household members who are interested in seeing their entitlement to an exceptional aid assessed by a Committee, are to fill out an Application to the Exceptions or Ex Gratia Aid Committee (Form BL/596). This form must be submitted to your local NII branch, together with required relevant documents in attachment.

For further explanation about the creation of the committees, you can review the bereaved families reference, as well as the Exceptional Benefits Committee briefing and the Ex Gratia Aid Committee briefing.
